The students at Freedom High School have voted for their senior officers and the results are in! These officers will be working to make this hectic school year the best they can for everyone.

The senior treasurer this year is Kyla Hoffbauer. The treasurer oversees the school budget and works to raise money for events. Hoffbauer decided to run for treasurer because she wanted to be more involved at school and she does her own finances at home and is confident in her ability to budget for the school.

“We’re planning on doing senior T-shirts and offering a few different senior privileges.”

Tessa Burnett is the senior historian, which means she does all the documenting of any events at school and she also has a say in ideas and projects the school does over the year.

Burnett says that they have a few ideas in the works but that they are allows open to suggestions.

“I decided to run for historian because I’ve noticed a lack of involvement among the people of Freedom High School and I want that to change.”

Matthew Wilson is the new vice president for the senior class. The vice president helps come up with ideas for the senior class and organize events, as well as reach out to students for their input on the events they participate in. Wilson ran for vice president because he wanted to make this year as enjoyable as possible amidst COVID-19.

“We’re trying to set up a senior sunrise event and community service events.”

Sofi Rao is the senior president, and her job is to ensure that everything runs smoothly. This includes planning, organizing, helping with events, and coming up with ideas to make this a great school year. Rao wants to give everyone a great school year and feels like she has good ideas to make that happen.

“I want to incorporate a ‘Senior of the Week’ through a social media platform, open up volunteer opportunities and partner with local Greek life.”
