“The Right to Vote”

“Voting is a privilege” – many say. The voting rights act is a historic civil rights law that is meant to ensure that the right to vote is not denied on account of race or color. As it’s known by many the 15th amendment to the U.S. constitution granted African American men the right to vote declaring that the “right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color or previous condition of servitude.” So for this cause everyone should be able to vote equally unless there might be reasons for them not to such as criminal backgrounds, not being a citizen and more.
