Mason Strickland, Staff Writer
Mason Strickland strives to be a role model to all. Born on the 25th of October in the sunny state of Florida, Mason was the 1st of two children. He currently attends Freedom High School with his younger sister, Lindsay. He enjoys participating in our school’s activities.
“I see Mason getting involved in his school and it puts a smile on my face,” said Lisa Strickland, his mom.
Mason takes pride in his school work. He has been an A student at freedom since freshman year, is a member of FBLA, and a member of the Varsity Baseball Team. He has been playing for Freedom since freshman year as well. After his Freedom years, Mason plans to pursue a medical degree at Auburn University.
“Mason can do what he puts his mind to. His dreams are big and he has a good mindset,’ said Jeff Strickland, Mason’s father.
On his free time Mason likes being outdoors. He loves wakeboarding as well as fishing. The fishing highlights of his life include a five foot Barracuda and many sharks. Another outdoor activity Mason enjoys is duck hunting in the lakes of Florida. Another one of his favorite activities is traveling; his country list currently has six countries with a majority of them located in the Caribbean.
When Mason retires he plans on spending his days on the water fishing and visiting places by boat. He has big plans and ideas and hopes to take on the world one step at a time.
