Crumbl Cookies has gained a massive following for its oversized, gourmet cookies and weekly rotating flavors. However, student opinions on the bakery chain are divided.
Sophomore Chelsea Collins is a devoted fan but still sees flaws in the brand.
“I’ve tried Crumbl many times, and I love Crumbl so much,” Collins (10) said.
Even with her love for the brand, Collins (10) has strong feelings about certain flavors.
“My least favorite is the original pink sugar cookie. It tastes literally like raw cookie dough, but not in the good way,” Collins (10) said. “And then just frosting on top of it, which is gross too. My favorite on the other hand is probably lemon poppy seed, because it’s so zesty.”
Despite her enthusiasm for some flavors, Collins (10) doesn’t believe Crumbl is worth the price.
“No. I do not think Crumbl is worth the price, because it’s just a dessert. You got other desserts, such as going to Publix they have various options for a cheaper price,” Collins (10) said.
She also thinks the chain gets too much credit.
“Everybody hypes it up way too much. But it’s so good,” Collins (10) said.
One aspect she does approve of is the rotating menu.
“They do a good job with that, and they also add the voting where you get to vote for which cookie you want, so I think it’s okay,” Collins (10) said.
Still, she believes Crumbl could make some improvements.
“Maybe cook their cookies a little bit longer sometimes, because they’re raw a lot of the time,” Collins (10) said. “And they should lower their delivery prices.”
Freshman Brianna Rosboro has a more positive take on the brand, especially when it comes to the quality of the cookies.
“I think it is worth the price, because the cookies are really good quality and stuff, so I think it’s worth it,” Rosboro (9) said.
Rosboro (9) treats herself to Crumbl about once or twice a month.
“I see it, and I just want it,” Roboro (9) said.
When it comes to hype, though, she agrees with Collins (10)—it’s a bit overrated.
“Like, all flavors aren’t that good,” Rosboro (9) said.
She also finds some cookies too sweet or underbaked.
“Yeah, I do agree,” Rosboro (9) said.
As for the rotating menu, Rosboro (9) wishes some flavors would stick around.
“Some flavors are better. I would eat them often, but the other ones are just kind of like random flavors, so I wouldn’t eat them routinely,” Rosboro (9) said.
For some, Crumbl is a must-have. For others, it’s just another overpriced dessert.
“It’s lame,” Collins (10) said.
