- Freedom High School’s wrestling team has seen a string of impressive victories recently, and two key athletes have been essential to the team’s success—Kevin Serrano and Evan Post. Both have delivered consistent performances that have helped propel the team to victory.
“It’s all about execution when it counts,” Kevin Serrano said. “I knew I had to stay focused, stick to the game plan, and wrestle smart. That’s how we’re winning these matches.”
Serrano’s approach to each competition is methodical, a mindset that helps him stay calm and composed under pressure. His technical skills on the mat have been crucial to securing the wins.
“I’ve been working on my conditioning all season, so when it’s time to finish a match, I’m ready,” he explained.
His preparation, paired with his ability to stay efficient in the later rounds of a match, has made a noticeable difference in the team’s overall performance.
“When it’s my turn, I make sure I’m ready to go. I focus on what’s in front of me and make the most of every opportunity,” said Evan Post, reflecting on his recent victories.
Post’s ability to capitalize on his opponents’ mistakes has earned him key points in several close matches, helping to secure crucial victories for the team. His awareness and quick thinking on the mat have allowed him to outmaneuver some of the toughest competition.
“I treat every match the same—no matter who I’m up against. I just focus on executing my moves cleanly and efficiently,” Post stated.
This level-headed approach has allowed him to contribute greatly to the team’s consistent wins. Post’s adaptability has also proven invaluable, as he remains calm even when faced with unpredictable challenges on the mat.
Together, Serrano and Post have set the tone for the team’s momentum. Their individual performances complement each other, with Serrano’s technical ability and Post’s tactical mindset both playing a major role.
“We’ve built a strong team chemistry, and it shows in the matches,” Serrano added. “We’re all pushing each other, and that’s why we keep coming out on top.”
