Disney Animation initiated its prestigious reputation in the creation of movies since the inception of Snow White in 1937.  Since Snow White graced the cinema, Disney has released several great pictures, most recently, Frozen.

Released on November 27, Frozen has earned 810 million dollars at the box office.  Kristen Bell, known for the movies You Again or When in Rome, is the voice of one of the main characters, Anna.  Anna’s sister Elsa is voiced by Idina Menzel, famously known for being in the original cast of the Broadway musical, Wicked.  In the beginning of the movie, the sisters experience life changing events. The sisters receive magical powers and play with them until Anna gets hurt. Anna and Elsa’s parents, the King and Queen of Arendale, are forced to erase Anna’s memories of Elsa’s powers. When the girls get older, their parents go on a trip to another land and die in a shipwreck.  The gates of the Castle of Arendale are locked and no one is allowed to enter or leave. Anna and Elsa lose their friendship and Anna’s memories about Elsa’s powers were wiped clean.  Elsa desperately wants to have a close relationship with her sister but can’t because she doesn’t want Anna to find out about her powers and get hurt.

Soon comes coronation day, and Elsa is ready to be crowned queen of Arendale until she is disrupted by Anna’s wedding plans with Hans, someone she has just met.  Anna gets into a fight with Elsa and outraged, Elsa uses her powers and puts Arendale into a never-ending winter. Elsa is horrified so she runs away and builds her own ice kingdom on top of mountains far from Arendale.  Anna wants to set things right so she tries to find Elsa with help from Olaf the snowman and Cristoff. What happens next?  Does Anna marry Hans? Does Elsa return to Arendale? You will just have to see the film to find out.  

Frozen was a great movie. The music supplemented the storyline and added to create an overall positive atmosphere. I loved the sisters, and their special bond. The character Olaf, was developed nicely and through the movie became my favorite character. I recommend this movie to anybody in any age bracket who is seeking to watch a good family film.
