Disney latest movies, Mufasa: The Lion King takes us back to a new story about one of most powerful lions in movie history. Directed by Barry Jenkins, this movie serves as a prequel to The Lion King, showing us how the main character Mufasa, came from being an orphaned cub to becoming King. One of the things that mostly stand out during the whole movie was how realistic it is, the characters, background, movement and sounds made the movie great, although others might prefer it animated like the 1994 Lion King Movie, with the colors on the characters and backgrounds. In the movie, it focuses on Mufasa as a cub, and his challenges he faced once he was separated from his parents. As he grows older, his relationship with his brother, Taka, which later gets named scar, starts to get complicated, and he forms new friendships with other animals. The movie’s plot is good; however, some parts of the movie seem like it was rushed and a bit slow, with all the singing in the movie, even though it is a Disney movie, it has you waiting too long to get to the good part of it. The songs in the film weren’t as good as the 1994 Lion King movie, but it does fit well in the plot, it just wasn’t as memorable as Hakuna Matata. Mufasa: The Lion King is a beautifully made film, adding more depth to the story of Lion King, though the movie isn’t animated like the last movie, it’s still an enjoyable movie with how realistic the characters and everything in the movie is. If you love The Lion King, realistic animals that talk and want to learn about Mufasa’s past, this movie will definitely be worth watching.
