Cultural Beliefs

Everyone believes in different things. Whether you’re Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, or don’t even believe there is a God, everyone has their own ideas on who the man upstairs is.

There are so many different ways to celebrate your religions too.

My family is catholic which is another form of Christianity. We believe in God and all the stories written in the bible.

We celebrate Christmas, and partake in Lent.

Lent is a 40 day holiday in remembrance of when Jesus Christ spent 40 days fasting in the desert. There are many rules we have to follow during these 40 days.

For one, we cannot eat meat on Fridays during lent. We must fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. We are supposed to give up something important to us for those 40 days.

Other religions have their own rules and celebrations and I believe people should be more open to learn about them.

Even if you do not believe in a certain religion I think expanding your knowledge throughout all of them is a good way to figure out what you really believe in and who you are. Your religion can really help you find yourself.

I believe religion should be taught in schools. Getting kids to research different cultures could help them to really understand what goes on in the world. Whether it’s good or bad.

Everyone can believe what they want and have their own ideas on cultural acts. No religion is the wrong one. You can never go wrong with following what you believe in.
