Euphoria: A Review

Euphoria: A Review

Hadley Linne, Staff Writer

Euphoria is a tv show on HBO max that came out in spring of 2020. The show is about
the struggles of teenagers.

The show features multiple different characters with different backstories that show
how they are the way they are.
Season 2 came out last weekend and it has filled the internet with theories, viral videos,
and memes.
With all the rage of the new show I decided to interview students their opinions on the
show.
“Euphoria is suspenseful and different. It feels raw and emotional.” Angela Montana
(10) said.
Euphoria stars the famous Zendaya. This has caused the show to really blow up.
“I’m a big fan of Zendaya she’s the reason I watched the show.” Ellie Pliska (11) said.
The show shows teenagers common issues that they can all relate to. It helps teens feel relate to
everyday problems like mental health, self esteem and relationship issues.
“I like Euphoria because it’s kinda different than most teen shows. It’s a little crazy.” Timothy Czecheski
(10) said.
However many people argue the ages of the actors playing the teenagers is inappropriate.
“They have actors that are like 30 playing 16 year olds. It’s kinda weird and definitely looks extremely
unrealistic.” Rachel Gynn (10) said.
Since some of the scenes filmed are inappropriate for minors they have to use older actors to play
younger roles.
Sadly, their casting wasn’t too accurate as the actors look much older than their characters.
“The first thing I noticed was how old Maddy Perez looks (played by Alexa Demie 30 y/o),” Addie
Barno (10) said.
