Opening Bathrooms

Opening+Bathrooms

The bathrooms being closed right now is very stupid. Students using bathrooms to skip
is not a good reasoning for the bathrooms to be closed. There are other students who actually
need to use the restrooms for valid reasons and whenever they go to open a bathroom door,
it’s locked. Then they have to keep on walking and HOPE for the next bathroom they get to, to
be open, and if it’s not they have to repeat the same action over and over again. This is
ridiculous and inconvenient and the school board has to think about other solutions to the
students skipping class situation. Many students are bothered by this fact and wish for things to
change.
“I’m so tired of having to search for a bathroom to go to, I should be able to get to the
closest bathroom and open the door and use the restroom like a normal human being,” Yassin
Tazi, 11, said.
It is not everyone’s fault that some students are using bathrooms to skip class, so not
everyone should be paying the consequences. If someone is caught using a restroom to skip,
they should be punished. If they are caught again than there punishment should be increased in
severity. Which should help prevent the use of bathrooms to skip. However, completely closing
bathrooms for the whole day is not acceptable.
“I sometimes ask to use the restroom when I’m in class, then when I walk out and get to
a bathroom that’s closed, I miss the information that I was supposed to receive in class, for no
reason,” Colin Baker 11, said.
Freedom High School should not expect students to stay at a school for 6-8 hours while
drinking water, without using a restroom for the whole day. That is ignorant and careless and
their decisions about the bathrooms should be reconsidered as soon as possible.
