The Start of the Soccer Season
November 2, 2020
As we roll into November, winter sports are starting up, including soccer. The girl’s team is starting off their season with over 30 team members, who were divided into a rostered team and a practice team.
Seniors Allie Freihofer and Cambell Brown, co-captains this season, are both looking forward leading the team this year.
“We have a much bigger team this year,” Brown explained, “but we also have a whole new team attitude.”
With nearly every player showing up to practices on time and putting in all their effort during drills and scrimmages, team members hope this will be a good season.
Freihofer and Brown both added that they are looking forward to their senior night the most.
“I have been waiting for this since my freshmen year and I cannot wait to walk down the field with my family and closest friends” Freihofer said.
The girl’s senior night will be against Chamberlain on December 18th and keeping with tradition, all four seniors will hopefully score during the game.
“With COVID and everything else we will have a lot of changes this season and it is me and Cambell’s job to keep everything in check” Freihofer explained.
Games and practices will have to be run differently from past years to keep everyone safe. Including the team social distancing to the best of their abilities and wearing their masks whenever possible.
Preseason games start this week on Monday, November 2nd and the season begins the following week.
“I am so excited for this season,” Brown added, To play my last year with such an amazing team.”
