Freedom’s Breakfast Clubs
Freedom High School offers 35 clubs to its students. Though there is a wide selection of clubs to choose from, students may only join up to three interest clubs. There are no other limits.
Our Club Rush this year was on September 3rd and 4th. During these days, students may join many of our school clubs during lunch. However, enrollment for some clubs is later in the year.
Applications for National Honor Society, for example, will be available in room 242 starting September 21st. They are due October 24th, but Ms. Smith, the sponsor, recommends avoiding procrastination, especially because three teacher recommendations are required. NHS requires a minimum 3.5 weighted GPA and no OSS.
FBLA was also not present during Club Rush. See Ms. Marshall, Mr. Channels, or Ms. McNatt for an application. Though they recruit from their business classes, all students may join. All members must compete, and have the opportunity to advance from the district to state or national levels. There are many categories to compete in. Applications and dues must be given to Ms. Marshall or Mr. Channels by Friday, October 2nd.
Club days will now work much differently from last year. On the 1st Monday of each month, Honors clubs will meet during 1st period. On the 2nd Monday of each month, interest clubs will meet during 2nd period. On the 3rd Monday of each month, service clubs will meet during 3rd period.
Club card distribution began Monday, September 21st. Club sponsors are responsible to getting them to club members, not Ms. Pino. Each type of club (interest, honors, and service) has a designated color (red, blue, or yellow) for the club cards. Students should have all club cards by Friday, September 25th.
