Bloodborne was released back in May 24th, 2015, It has been almost 10 years after this masterpiece was introduced into the public. The game covers what happens in a gothic world where humans were turned into beasts who look for blood mostly from humans, which the grand majority has gone insane. The story started below an academy called Byrgenwerth, curious scholars went down and found a godlike squid creature who anyone could easily be described as a cursed being due to its gross appearance and giant size. After experimentation they drew its blood and found out how good it was at healing any injury or sickness, but little did they know the consequence of their discovery. It was too late when they discovered that when consumed in excess the old blood would twist the biology and evolve the physical and magical attributes of anyone who over consumed it, however it also slowly turned them into horrifying beasts, since a lot of the populace was infected and would slowly turn, the hunters were created to fight back the plague.
The game is an interesting look at a hopeless world even with so many hunters everything even the gods now known as eldritch horrors were against humanity and just used humans to their needs. The beasts, the old blood, the eldritch Horrors, even your fellow hunters turned against you. The great one’s were so powerful even the beasts couldn’t stand up to them, however the protagonist could. Through a massive number of enemies, insane hunters, beasts, elder gods, and the terrifying terrain you are put in the middle of the carnage and destruction of all humanity to somehow save it and bring back safety and prosperity to the city. Now you the hunter is tasked with this quest, and you do it all in one night. With all this and it’s amazing graphics Bloodborne set its print in horror open world games forever to be remembered even while forgotten by its creator’s.
Now Bloodborne still has a lot of fans and players it’s not gone yet but it is in a declining player count due to its lack of updates and news for over 9 years. Hopefully From Software will have a remaster or sequel in the way, but even without it Bloodborne will never stop being a great game
