The Strawberry Festival is an annual event that takes place in Plant City, Florida. It’s a festival that you wouldn’t want to miss, with many activities including shopping, food vendors, strawberry picking, music, and more. This year, the Strawberry Festival is designated as a student day, but should it be a non-student day?
The Strawberry Festival is a big deal every year because of its packed activities, delicious strawberry treats, and lively entertainment. People love coming together to celebrate all things strawberry and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Who wouldn’t want to miss out on such a berry big festival during this time of year?
“I like to eat the food at the festival, especially the strawberry funnel cakes. They are always a delight with the little touch of powdered sugar on top. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family there as well,” said William Hernandez (10th).
The festival’s crispy, sweet, and delicious funnel cakes are a huge hit when it comes to sharing them with friends and family. It’s the perfect treat to enjoy while hanging out and soaking up the fun festive vibes together.
“Some things I like to do at the festival are ride the big Ferris wheel called the ‘Berry Big Wheel.’ It’s the tallest Ferris wheel in the United States. And usually, I would enjoy eating the food there or picking fresh-grown strawberries,” said Daisha Roseboro (11th).
The Berry Big Wheel at the Strawberry Festival stands at an astounding 155 feet, weighs 400,000 pounds, and includes 6 miles of electrical wiring. The wheel is the biggest hit at the festival and is a separate ticketed attraction.
“No, it’s not fair that the State Fair is a non-student day and the Strawberry Festival isn’t, because I believe some people can’t go on the weekends or they are busy. The festival is a year-round event, just like the State Fair, so it should be a non-student day,” said William Hernandez (10th).
The sweetest time of the year is the Strawberry Festival, and it being a non-student day would make it both educational and enjoyable for students all around. It serves as a great opportunity for families to spend quality time together and learn about agriculture and traditions.
“It’s such a special place to go to, especially if it was a non-student day, because it holds traditions. For me, I go every year for my family member who passed away. I used to go with my mom and her family,” said Daisha Roseboro (11th).
