Breaking Bad
The Most Addicting Show on Television Has Come To An End
You might have never seen an episode but everyone has at least heard of the hit drama on AMC, Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad has been deemed one of the greatest shows of all time by almost every critic, and each episode is better than the last. The show has unfortunately come to an end, but Walter White’s legacy will live on forever.
The idea behind Breaking Bad is so creative and unique which is one of the reasons why it has been such a successful show. The main character Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston) is an underachieving genius chemistry teacher who learns that he has cancer, and in an effort to make sure that his family is provided for in his possible demise he starts making high quality crystal meth. The show follows Walter White through his career as a meth cook and the problems and struggles that he faces. Most shows follow the age-old idea that the protagonist begins the show as the protagonist and ends the show as the protagonist. However, Breaking Bad takes a unique twist on this as Walter White begins the show as the protagonist and throughout the show slowly becomes the antagonist.
Many people have complained that it’s hard to become addicted to the show because of its depressing nature, but others enjoy the unusual twist and unique perspective that the drama takes on a dark subject. Throughout its five season life span, Breaking Bad has continually gained a larger following with the final episode of the series watched by 10.28 million people.
With the conclusion of Breaking Bad a new spinoff called Better Call Saul will soon air on AMC. This show will focus on Saul Goodman the lawyer from the Breaking Bad who is paid to fix problems. Better Call Saul will focus on Saul’s life before he met Walter White and his whole life changed.
Breaking Bad is one of those shows that even though it is coming to an end it will always be remembered as one of the best shows ever in the history of television. It combines all the qualities of great television into one show making it extremely addicting. This is a show that anyone could and should watch at some point in their lives. The plot twists are unpredictable leaving you on the edge of your seat at all moments. Breaking Bad will be that show that is remembered many years from now for having an incredibly powerful impact on our society today.

Even though Breaking Bad has come to an end, I occasionally hear about how great of a show Breaking Bad was and how it’s so sad that it’s finally over. I’ve never watched a single episode before, but from what I’ve heard and just read, it sounds like a show that I would enjoy watching. Now that it’s over though, I can watch episode after episode without having to wait.
