Freedom High School’s swimming team had its first meet last Thursday, defeating King’s boys 114-41 and girls 90-64.
After the meet, Senior swim team member Jacob Schuster stated, “The team did great. I wasn’t satisfied with my times, but we are looking forward to a great season.”
Seniors Tiernan Noll swam the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke, Schuster swam 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, Aidan Boggs swam the 100 freestyle, 200, and 400 freestyle relay, and Junior Genevieve Clark swam the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and the 50 freestyle.
After Freedom’s victory last Thursday, Clark stated, “We did really well since it was our first meet, but everyone swam and made their race and we won. We were all really focused and determined to win.”
Schuster was very confident in his performance and said that the 500 freestyle was, “really easy because I knew that I would win, so I tried to push myself to beat my times.”
Overall the swim team felt great about the huge victory over King and they are looking forward to the rest of the season. So come out and support Freedom’s Swim Team next Thursday, September 8th against Hillsborough at Copeland Park.
