Every high school has flaws, especially Freedom High School. However, at the end of the day it is still great to be a Freedom Patriot. What are some students’ favorite things about FHS?

Sophomore Diana Perez said, “I love that there’s a lot of electives to choose from. It provides a great inventory of extra classes I’m most interested in.  That way I can explore which subjects I might enjoy pursuing in the future.”

When asked about things that she doesn’t like about Freedom, Perez said, “I don’t like that it’s an outside school. I hate having to sweat and deal with rain.”

Junior Kyndal Metcalf noted, “I love that all my friends are at Freedom. It makes it a much better environment going to school with people you are close with.“

“I really hate the bathrooms though,” stated Metcalf. “They’re probably some of the worst bathrooms I’ve ever been in.”

Kate Weisenmiller, a Junior at Freedom stated, “My favorite thing about Freedom is that it has so many great teachers. I love Mrs. Carr and Mr. Selbrade.”

Weisenmiller conceded, “I don’t like how we aren’t allowed in the library during lunch. I wish I was able to study in there because it’s easy to focus, but they don’t allow food inside.”

Love Debreus added, “I love that all the teachers are so supportive. Especially Mrs. Reale.”

“I don’t like how dirty the campus always looks. There’s always trash on the ground and writing on the wall and other things,” said Debreus.

Paola Santana noted, “I love that all my friends come here, it makes coming to school much better.”

“I don’t like how gross the bathrooms are here. I don’t like having to use them during the day,” said Santana.

Jazzmin Calderon added, “I think it’s great how the students stay in touch and communicate, whether it is in person or through social media.”

“I don’t like how so many students lack school spirit, and I believe we need more pep rallies to fix that,” says Calderon.

Clearly there are many great things about Freedom High School that students love, but there are also some areas where this school can be improved to make the learning environment more comfortable.
