Power Couple Supports Child’s Decision

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have recently decided to embrace their daughter’s decision to dress like a boy. Hollywood’s power couple is supporting eight year old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s decision to be called “John” and allow him to express himself freely.

“Shiloh, we feel has Montenegro style. It’s how people dress there. She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits. So it’s a suit with a tie and a jacket and slacks, or a tracksuit,” Jolie said in 2010. “She likes to dress like a boy. She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.”

Jolie and Pitt have been very extremely open about her being a tomboy, but rumors resurfaced after the 8-year-old attended the Unbroken premiere in a suit like her older brothers. This lead to an Instagram picture of John posted by a celebrity of the hip-hop community, Amber Rose, stating “How gorgeous is John Jolie Pitt?! Born into the perfect family for him. #TransKids #LoveurKidsNoMatterWhat #Support ??”. For the record, Jolie and Pitt have never publically talked about any of their children being “transkids” as Rose put it. Many people are appraising Jolie and Pitt for being so open to their daughter’s decisions. They don’t look at this situation as “just a phase”, but they’re giving the child the opportunity to find who he really is.

“To explore what it means to be both genders is also totally normal, but the problem is we have suppressed it for so many generations, that people are still uncomfortable with it,” said clinical psychologist Linda Blair.

It’s good to see that a couple as famous as Jolie and Pitt are open about something that some people have been ashamed of. Many People however are Upset about the whole situation saying things such as “they’ve been dressing Shiloh like a boy since birth” and “Shiloh’s never had a chance to dress like a girl” yet Jolie and Pitt have brought up a multiple number of times how all of this is John’s decision.
