Many people probably have not heard of the show House of Cards, but it has gained a large following after the first season premiered in 2013. The show can be watched exclusively on Netflix and the second season consisting of 13 episodes is set to be released on February 14, 2014.

House of Cards is a political drama that centers on Democrat Frank Underwood who is the House Majority Whip and was passed over for appointment as Secretary of State. The show follows Underwood as he takes his revenge on those who betrayed him. Kevin Spacey plays the part of Frank Underwood and fully commits himself to the role of a political animal who is focused solely on self-preservation and self-promotion.

After just the first season, House of Cards won one Golden Globe and three Primetime Emmy’s which is great news for Netflix considering that they spent $100 million for the first two seasons of the show. According to Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer at Netflix, House of Cards is the most-watched streaming title at Neflix. There are already talks underway to fund a third season after seeing the success of the show after only one season.

House of Cards is highly rated on IMDb receiving a score of 8.9 out of 10 and is certified as fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 97% of people who watched it saying that they liked the show.
