Over the past three months, members of chorus and musical theater worked hard to prepare for A Little Night Music. The concert combined two distinct classes with varying talents and personalities to put on a phenomenal show. The performance consisted of dancing, singing and many student solos.

“Leading up to the concert, students worked on music everyday in class, and sometimes we have after-school rehearsals to polish up the choreography,” said Luis Nunez, President of The Bravo Company.

The concert was a tribute to a musical, A Little Night Music, and consisted of songs from the Broadway productions. From “Sunday” composed by Stephen Sondheim and arranged by Mac Huff to “Sonya Alone” by Paul and Pasek, each song was filled with passion and emotion.

“My favorite song was the closing song, “You Will Be Found”, because it unites literally EVERYONE! There was no one in that audience that was not feeling the song. Everyone could relate to the song in some way. It really was a moving piece,” continued Nunez.

The concert was filled with many moving pieces. However, the most memorable part of the night was when members of the musical theater and chorus united to walk down the stage to gather around the audience singing, “You Will Be Found.” Afterwards, the audience erupted in applause for the performers.

While the performance was amazing, it did come with its difficulties and problems. During the concert, a few microphones ran out of battery, so some parts were difficult to hear.

“Some parts of the dances were off, too. I wished the timing was better,” stated senior Alden Cochran.

Despite the technical issues, it did not take away from the overall performance.

“Our department is filled with talented people and I’m glad they got to showcase their talents,” said Cochran.
