Mockingjay- Part 1

Mockingjay-+Part+1

The Hunger Games movies have always achieved outstanding reputations in the box office. The most recent film, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1 did not fail to reach it’s high expectations. The movie has been number one in the box office since the release on November 21.

The story takes place in district 13, where rebels against the capitol reside. After Katniss’ destruction of the games in Catching fire, the capitol will do anything to destroy the rebellion. President Coin (Julianne Moore), leader of district 13, uses Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) as a piece of propaganda to lead an uprising. Katniss trades in her famous wooden bow and arrow for a new and improved version, armed with explosives to take down extreme capitol forces. With all the violence going on during the rebellion, Katniss shows a soft side during most scenes. One of these scenes includes a song called “The Hanging Tree”, sung by Jennifer Lawrence, which reached number two on iTunes top 20. This was a surprise to the Golden Globe winning actress who described her voice as “Amy Winehouse with bronchitis”.

“I’m really excited for everyone to see it. For me, the story kind of comes together and becomes a lot bigger now. It talks about the consequences of war and everything you see that has built up from the first two movies”, said Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark) on Good Morning America.

Author Suzanne Collins’ trilogy has successfully become a well-made book to movie adaptation thanks to director Francis Lawrence. Many Hunger Games fans are now eagerly waiting for Mockingjay- Part 2 to be released on November 19, 2015

“I feel like the movie took on a different tone in a dramatic and powerful way”, Jennifer Lawrence told Robin Roberts.
