iPhone 6 Exceeds Expectations

After weeks and even months of anticipation, the iPhone 6 has finally been released, featuring record breaking sales. After the first 24 hours of the iPhone being available for pre-order, 4 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices were sold.

Many apple buyers were very excited to get the new iPhone, some camping out for two weeks before the release of it. Contract-free pricing for iPhone 6 is set at $649, $729, and $849 in the U.S., depending on the amount of storage. The iPhone 6 will run $749, $849, and $949 without a contract.

These sales have exceeded the financial analysts’ predictions which the estimates were only 6.5 million. Apple flew past this and sold over 10 million units of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 on the very first weekend that is was released.

Since the iPhone 6 has come on many haven’t seen or heard about the new iPad 4 being released as well. Although these will have extraordinary sales for apple, the iPhone is still Apple’s best source of money. The iPhones make up for about 70 percent of all the Apple sales.

Although apple is a little late to the game in producing large screen phones, it is predicted that Samsung will suffer the most. Samsung has relied heavily on larger screens as a good selling point for them with their galaxy phones.

As well as the prediction of Samsung suffering the most, it is also predicted that iPhone 6 sales will be very ahead during the Christmas sales of all competitors, including HTC, Samsung, and LG.

Instead of an upgrade from the iPhone such as the iPhone 5 upgrading to a 5c/5s apple says for the iPhone 6 they will continue to sell the exact same iPhone just for a discounted price. The wait for a new iPhone 6 plus is 3-4 weeks due to all the sales, the iPhone 6 is also selling many more devices compared to the iPhone 6 plus.

“It will do nothing, I don’t suspect it will dampen any demand,” said Tim Bajarin, an analyst at Creative Strategies Inc. about the limited iPhone 6 complaints. “Honestly …we could have done a larger iPhone years ago,” added CEO of apple, Tim Cook when asked about the larger screen and why it didn’t happen any sooner.

He also added, “It’s never just about making a larger phone. It’s about making a better phone in every single way.”
