Teamwork Makes The Dream Work

Freedom football players ended their last home game for the season with a bang against Wiregrass high school, wining 33-13. They have worked hard this season to truly find all the puzzle pieces, and the homecoming game was when they truly worked together as a family.

“It was awesome, the boys played really well. They played as a team, like I knew they could, and every player played,” Head Football Coach Todd Donohoe said.

The day of the homecoming game day you could feel the team sprit throughout the school. The students dressed in their class color and the football players dressed to impress. Before the homecoming game the school day ended with an inspiring pep rally. At the pep rally the cheerleaders amped the student body up, the football players bust some moves and even Mrs. Graff broke it down and in the end our patriot boys joined up and thanked the fans for coming to all their games and truly supporting them.

“They [football players] were enthusiastic, they were ready to win. And I think they did a good job entertaining us,” Junior Sebastain Marin said

The night of the game you could feel the spirit of the night. The fans were dressed in the school colors with hand prints of red and blue splattered on their faces and body. The band and color guard amped the crowd up by playing funky music and the night was even more special having the alumni come home and remember all the wonderful memories they made at Freedom High.

As soon as the game started you knew that our boys were ready to prove that they came ready to win. After every down, field goal and touchdown the players and the 12th man was letting the other team know that they were not going to crush our spirit.

“They did awesome. At first they we’re a little rocky but I know that winning that game meant a lot to them. I support the football team 100% they’re awesome, funny guys,” junior Jordyn Pohlers said,

The football players were making runs, catches and throws like there was no tomorrow. Running to the end zone and making throws and catches showed everyone that Patriots were not going down without fight. That night was the night that every single person knew who real football team was.

“Drum line’s cadences definitely kept some energy up, I think the game was great, and plus that was one of our best performances” Kathleen Miller said.

The game ended in an amazing way. Not just with a win but also with our superior band and color guard. They really know how to bring the right vibe to the game. This was one of the best games of this season, and the football player would not have gotten this far without the 12th player.

“Thank you guys so much for coming out and supporting us through everything good and bad,” Senior Offensive Lineman Alex Bahlmi said. “You guys were still there for us no matter what. We love you.”
