ArtPop Is Poppin’

ArtPop Is Poppin

After two years of waiting, Lady Gaga fans, who refer to themselves as “Monsters”, have finally been given a new album. Lady Gaga’s ‘ArtPop’ has given us back the Gaga we love.

Set to hit the stands on November 11th, the album is streaming on iTunes. It’s full of the same musical style we’ve grown to love from Gaga. The album opens with the song Aura, which features in the new movie ‘Machete Kills ‘. Though the song offers the empowering lyrics such as, ‘I’m not a wandering slave, I am a woman of choice’, the song exhibits sexual references commonly expected from the Queen of Pop.

Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, stepped into the spot light in August of 2008 with her debut Album, ‘The Fame’. The record included the number-one hit Poker Face. ‘Artpop’ is predicted to reach the same number one status, with singles already on top of the charts.

The album ends with the hit, Applause. Gaga wrote the song, in an attempt to address her critics, repeating the line ‘I live for the applause, applause, applause.’ The album is racy and fun, filled with great beats and lots of good lyrics.
