Water You Doing April 5th?

Water Wars is a Freedom High School tradition that is coming up soon. Seniors are forming teams and starting April 5th, will compete in an ongoing water wars game that occurs off school campus.

This is a tradition that has gone on for many years. It is only for seniors and usually lasts about two weeks. Seniors form teams with their friends and compete with their classmates to see who can score the most points in the time period.

The rules are simple:
1. Students can have a maximum of 10 people per team
2. Water guns, water balloons, and hoses are allowed, among any other tool that can squirt, shoot, or dump water.
3. Everyone gets two lives and one hit gets rid of one life.
4. There must be photo or video proof that someone was hit or else it does not count.
5. There are no hits allowed on school grounds or while someone is working. However, they may be hit on the way into work and on the way out.
6. Hits on someone’s driveway or yard and in their garage count, but for a hit inside their house to be allowed they must be invited in.
7. Once someone is hit, they must wait at least five minutes before trying to hit the person back.
8. Each team is allowed one bounty. At any time they may declare a bounty on someone and if that person is hit within 24 hours, a person on their team who was out of the game may be brought back in with one life.
9. The team with the most points by April 19th at 9 p.m. wins.

This year’s Water War’s is run by Katie Matthews. The official instagram account is @fhswaterwars2021. It has all the rules and teams posted now and when Water Wars begins, she will post updates and keep track of scores. Teams are to be submitted to her by April 1st. Right now there are nine teams with about 80 participants.
