Life in Color

Life in Color happened this past weekend in Orlando and was an event that many Freedom students will never forget. Among paint, good music, and positive vibes, Life in Color turned out to be better than most had expected. Going into Sunday, many festival goers were thinking that the mixture of the paint and the rain would turn out to ruin the day. However, it turned out to be the opposite as the paint caused everyone to get more into the music and event itself. Not to mention, the long haul to Orlando didn’t seem to bother local high schoolers because it seemed as if everyone who attended the event went to a Pasco or Hillsborough county school. Students from Freedom, Wiregrass, and Plant seemed to be ubiquitous throughout the fairgrounds.

For many, Life in Color was the first “Rave” or EDM festival that they had been in attendance for. This was the instance for Junior Matthew Koller. When asked what he thought of the experience, Koller stated “Life in Color was my first time at anything like it. I thought it was a once in a lifetime experience.”

Koller later went on to say that he plans to go to any related events in the upcoming future. Also in the paint-filled crowd was Junior Lexi Leon. Leon is a seasoned vet when it comes to EDM events. She has been to numerous festivals and shows displaying her love for the music.

“The best part of these raves isn’t the music, but to be with your best friends getting lost in the moment. I love to vast in the moment and not think about the future because I feel that this is the mindset you should have at these things. If you think about going to school or to work the next morning you are not going to have fun because you will be too busy being stressed. Also, Slander totally killed it,” said Junior Lexi Leon.

Just like Leon and Koller, everyone at Life in Color will never forget that very special night.
