“When I hear ‘community service’ I think of a convict on the side of the highway wearing a bright orange reflective vest picking up trash,” said Karina Garcia, a sophomore. While most students have the same image in their heads when community service is mentioned, those who are applying to scholarships like Bright Futures think of the required amount of hours a lot differently. Now if you’re one of those students who are looking for some community service hours, it’s a lot easier to find places to volunteer at that you would enjoy than one would think. There are a variety of great volunteer opportunities in and around the Tampa area.
