With the first season just finished, the show Gotham has their fans craving for more. With being so close to the comics, DC has done a great job. As the start of fall of 2014 FOX released the TV show Gotham. Many leaks went through the internet, hinting here and there of what the show was going to be about. Questions circled the internet questioning whether it would be about older or younger Bruce Wayne. Also if the villains would already be causing crimes or would it be them developing into the well-known villains that we learn to hate.

Without a doubt DC fans soon realized how the TV show Gotham was going to play out from the first episode on September 22, 2014.  With the younger version of Wayne and the introduction of detective James Gordon, showed that this was going to be about the origins of the tales of the batman stories.

The first season was not all about Bruce Wayne and how he becomes Batman. In some parts detective James Gordon and Harvey bullock tried to find the killers of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Also shows the development of the Gotham City. It starts with Gordon coming back to Gotham as a rookie detective who “Hopes to restore the city back to the pure version he remembers it was as a kid,” but he soon realizes that Gotham is nothing like it was when he was a kid.

Within the first season we do get a little sip of the villains throughout the batman series. Firstly we meet the younger Catwomen, younger Poison Ivy, Nygma, Falcone, Penguin and many others. We meet these characters before they are known to become batman villains. We learn their roles in the city of Gotham and in a way how they “run the city” after the Bruce Wayne parents were murder.

With every episode, the show had every viewer on the edge of their seats with the action packed storyline. The show made viewers see how the city of Gotham really came about. But with one major difference with the show and the comics would be the new character Fish Mooney. Raging questions went throughout the internet “who is this Fish Mooney?”, “does she have anything to do with the Wayne’s murder?”, and “what’s her major role in the series?”  And many more, but one thing about DC comics is that they never let their fans down. Without a doubt with the upcoming season of Gotham in January of 2015, Gotham viewers are in for another breath taking season. Just with start of the first season Gotham reeled in 22.2 million, plus views across the multiple platforms.  FOX really feels that this show will bring them high ratings. They feel that this show is going better than they ever thought.

David Madden, fox broadcasting says “the show hasn’t even pulled out its ace card yet. Or more accurate, its joker”.
